Technical Regulation of the Customs Union 029/2012 "On safety requirement of nutritional supplements, fragrances and technological supportive applications" was adopted by the Decision of the EEC Council No 58 on July 20, 2012, and came into force on July 1, 2013.

Scope of application

The subjects of CU TR are the following items released into circulation within the common customs territory of the EAEU:

  • nutritional supplements, complex food additives;
  • fragrances;
  • technological supportive applications;
  • products with regard to the content therein of food additives and flavorings;
  • processes of production, storage, transportation, sale and disposal of nutritional supplements, fragrances and technological supportive applications.

The CU TR does not apply to the production processes, storage, transportation, sale, disposal and application of nutritional supplements, fragrances and technological supportive applications carried out by citizens in home conditions.

Definitions

Fragrance – flavoring substance, not used directly for human food and designated for rendering flavor and (or) taste to food products (except for sweet, sour and salty products).

Nutritional supplement – any substance usually not used directly in food, used in production of foods products for a technological purpose to ensure the processes of manufacturing, transportation and storage.

Technological supportive application – substance which not being components of food products are used upon processing of food raw materials and (or) upon production of food products.

Confirmation of conformity

Confirmation of conformity of nutritional supplements, fragrances and technological supportive applications is conducted in the forms of:

  • Declaration of Conformity;
  • State registration;
  • Veterinary and sanitary expertise.
