Technical Regulation of the Customs Union 027/2012 "On safety of particular types of special foodstuff including dietic clinical and dietic protective nutrition"

Technical Regulations of the Customs Union 027/2012 "On safety of special foodstuff including dietic clinical and dietic protective nutrition" was adopted by the Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission Decision No 34 on June 15, 2012, and came into force on July 1, 2013.

Scope of application

The subjects of the CU TR 027/2012 are following goods:

  • specialized food products for sportsmen, pregnant and breast-feeding women (milk porridge, herbal tea products based on milk);
  • dietary, therapy and preventive food products including special baby foods (for example, a mixture of cereals, milk, meat, pasteurized sausages, sterilized milk, curd and cream, low-protein products (starches, cereals and paste), products for preterm baby)

The requirements of the CU TR 027/2012 do not apply to:

  • food products for baby (except for baby foods for dietary therapy and protective diet);
  • food products produced by public catering enterprises for consumption at the production location;
  • natural mineral water therapeutic water with the mineralization over 1 mg/dm;
  • biologically active food additives.

Confirmation of conformity

The confirmation of conformity is carried out in the form of State registration (in according to requirements of the CU TR 022/2011 “On Food Safety”).

The confirmation of conformity of the production processes, storage, sales, transportation, utilization products is conducted in the form of State supervision (control).
